{"id":416,"date":"2009-07-11T00:16:40","date_gmt":"2009-07-11T04:16:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rattlebridge.com\/blog\/2009\/07\/11\/first-teaching-assignment\/"},"modified":"2009-07-11T00:16:40","modified_gmt":"2009-07-11T04:16:40","slug":"first-teaching-assignment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rattlebridge.com\/blog\/first-teaching-assignment\/","title":{"rendered":"FIRST TEACHING ASSIGNMENT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#552f68\" size=\"3\"><strong>I began teaching too many years ago at Miami Trace High School in Washington Court House, Ohio, where I had lived for three years with my vagabond always moving family. I taught college prep English and Theatre and directed the plays.&nbsp; Although I could not stay for more than one year at Miami Trace&nbsp; as I was living in a rooming house and sending all my money home to my mother and the four younger kids in the family; I needed to move back to the Columbus area and find a teaching job that paid more. However,&nbsp; I loved that first year of teaching my seniors who were only four years younger than I was.&nbsp; Last summer, some of my &#8220;kids&#8221; had a mini reunion a practice that has continued.&nbsp; My kids have told me that I was the teacher who most touched their lives; this sentiment is worth more to me than all the wins in the dog show world.&nbsp; I am honored to have touched&nbsp; the lives of some of the finest and most successful adults I know.&nbsp; I would love to go back and do it all over again.&nbsp; Instead of going into secondary administration, I went into elementary as I hate football and basketball and high school principals must go to all games while I wanted to go to dog shows!<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font color=\"#3f004f\"><\/font><font size=\"3\"><strong>I am in the middle, front row.<\/strong><\/font>&nbsp; <a href=\"http:\/\/rattlebridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/image6.png\"><font color=\"#3f004f\"><a href=\"http:\/\/rattlebridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/image6.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border-top-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px\" height=\"322\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/rattlebridge.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/image-thumb1.png\" width=\"509\" border=\"0\"\/><\/a><\/font><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I began teaching too many years ago at Miami Trace High School in Washington Court House, Ohio, where I had lived for three years with my vagabond always moving family.
