<\/font><\/font>We all have regrets about fractured or lost relationships whether family or friends; we all have regrets in what we did or did not do, how we treated others, how we did not stay the course in tough times, or how we did not do what was right, honest, or ethical at times.  We judge others for their actions, words, or disregard and do not always see our own faults or actions for what they are. Sometimes, reconciliation with family or friend does not seem really possible through pride, through accumulated hurt, through the numbing of a conscience through repeated sins.  In God’s hands we may all be able to bridge gaps between us, amend our ways, and reach out no matter how impossible the situation appears. At this time of Lent, the examination of one’s conscience is especially important.  Homily after homily stresses the need for prayer, for the need to be honest with oneself, the need for recognizing our failings or our improper actions, and the need for forgiveness and the hope of absolution as we ready ourselves to honor in sorrow the Sacrifice of Christ as He journeys toward his death to save all of us. The following helped me in my thoughts as I begin my Lenten journey<\/em><\/font><\/strong>. <\/font><\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n

Read the following timeless message quietly then send it on its Journey: <\/strong><\/font>                                                            <\/p>\n

To realize the value of a sister\/brother<\/font><\/strong> <\/p>\n

Ask someone who doesn’t have one.<\/font><\/strong>

To realize the value of ten years:<\/font><\/strong> <\/p>\n

Ask a newly divorced couple.<\/font><\/strong>
<\/b> <\/p>\n

Ask a graduate.<\/font><\/strong> <\/p>\n

<\/font><\/strong>  <\/p>\n

Ask a student who has failed an exam.<\/font><\/strong> <\/p>\n

To realize the value of nine months:<\/font><\/strong>
Ask a mother who gave birth to a stillborn.<\/font><\/strong><\/b> <\/p>\n

To realize the value of one month: <\/font><\/strong> <\/p>\n

Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby.<\/font><\/strong> <\/p>\n

To realize the value of one week:<\/font><\/strong> <\/p>\n

Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.<\/font><\/strong>

To realize the value of one minute:<\/font><\/strong>
Ask a person who has missed the train, bus or  plane.<\/font><\/strong><\/b> <\/p>\n

<\/font>To realize the value of one-second:<\/strong><\/b><\/font> <\/p>\n

Ask a person who has survived an accident.<\/font><\/strong>

Time waits for no one.<\/font><\/strong>
<\/font>Treasure every moment you have.<\/strong>
<\/font><\/b><\/p>\n

You will treasure it even more when<\/font><\/strong>
