MAY COLBY REST IN PEACE  12\/25\/00-3\/27\/10<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Rainbow Bridge\u201d is well known to almost all dog people; its sentiment gets us through the day and night when we lose one of beloved companions.  <\/em><\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n

As much as I believe in heaven as my very finite mind can understand it, I really would be lost there, if I get there at all, basking in God\u2019s light without my beloveds by my feet, in my lap, and on my face and around my neck where my Wendy, Colby\u2019s mother, has placed herself for all these years.  I can only imagine the pain that Colby\u2019s family, the Kopacks   are feeling on losing him when I am still facing losing Wendy who is now 12 and 1\/2 and as demanding as ever! Looking at Colby, I can see his mother as all of her children bear such a strong resemblance to her. In honor of Colby, another Rattlebridge Cavalier who brought so much love into his home, and to his family who loved him in return. Thank you Paul and Lorraine for giving him such a wonderful home:<\/em><\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n

The Rainbow Bridge  <\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an
animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet
goes to Rainbow Bridge. <\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can
run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and
our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill
and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed
are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams
of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for
one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to
be left behind. <\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly
stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager
body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the
green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been
spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling
together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n

The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the
beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet,
so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together <\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n
